The now shorter snake-on-a-stick
He loves it so much, that when he's playing with it and Drac gets too close, he just HISSES at poor Drac...Drac just sits there with this look on his beautiful face that says "WTF?" Like he's stunned that Mango would do that. It's definitely the Drac and Mango Show when this is goingon...Mango huffs, and makes growling noises when he's playing with this thing. He just adores it!
So last night, he was playing with this thing (human initiated and supervised) and it got dropped on the floor for 10 seconds...literally. The next thing we knew, Mango was licking his chops and the thing was 5 or 6 inches shorter.
Oh NO. OMFG.
I calmly called the nearest Emergency Vet, who said we should bring him in pronto. So we got out the cat carrier and away we went, with Mangoes talking the whole way...He always lets you know in no uncertain terms when he thinks something needs to be said! We were giving him Reiki the whole way, and when he was with the Dr too...We could hear him telling them all about it. Mangos must have teeth of steel because that fabric isn't easy to cut or to pull apart.
The Dr saw us and said there was not much he could do at this point but hope that he passes it. Making him try and be sick to bring it out of his tummy was not an option because it may get caught in his throat, causing him to choke. I'm glad they didn't try that! They gave him a shot of Reglan, a drug that stimulates peristalsis in the intestines; To stimulate the passage of said 5 0r 6 inches of the most beloved snake-on-a-stick that is. Hopefully there will be no linear body problems with the fabric of that toy, and he won't get an intestinal blockage, which we are VERY carefully watching him for. Never drop this toy, not even for a second.
So we anxiously wait (with a few more gray hairs than we had yesterday) for a colorful deposit from our little Gogo boy and for this to be over very soon!
HUGS
UPDATE: (NOT for the squeamish but not that bad)
The Vet said it was rare for this to happen, but our Mangoes is a rare boy, for sure.
Errr...how to say this nicely...
He just sicked up all over the carpet...there was the snake in a few sections! He came in a few minutes ago and looked at me funny and started making that noise (you kitty folks know what I mean) and there came the snake! He is resting comfortably under the comforter, which is a completely normal thing for him to do. I'm paying very close attention to him, making sure he is not in distress in any way. He is breathing normally and seems very comfortable.
YAAAAY!!!!!!
